For you art fans, stop by the d Berman gallery sometime and take at look at the work of Chinese born artist Beili Liu. Her first solo exhibit since joining the UT arts department, her unspun black wool and gossamer red threaded needle sculptures will awe and amaze you.
Stop by Gallery D sometime this week and check out this amazing Heidi Merrick Kenyan print cocktail dress. Originally priced at $489 now on sale for $245. Style it with a studded belt and gladiator platforms for a highly fashionable look.
Tribeza Style Week continued last night with the fashion set sipping Savvy cocktails and looking fabulous in Austin's second street district. Due to the rain and cool temperature the crowds were not as heavy as I expected, but Eliza Page and Estilo managed to keep the party running. Shaesby Scott launched his new award winning bridal collection at jewelry store, Eliza Page, and was in great spirits. With his "signature satin finish, marquis diamonds and organic lines," he is sure to put smiles on the faces of a few lucky brides and grooms. Then I ventured over to Estilo, where the house DJ was spinning and the drinks were flowing. The models were looking hot in great looks for fall and everyone was having a fantastic time. I am looking forward to day three of Style Week with fashion followers venturing north to The Domain. With stores like Neiman Marcus, David Yurman and Luxe Apothetique participating, it is sure to be a great time.
Austin's glitterati were in full force last night at the annual Tribeza fashion show. For those of you who could not make it, you missed a fabulous time with hot models, great designers and the style set. Big props to Tribeza for putting on a fantastic show, for a second there I thought I was in New York. I loved the VIP tents but I think next year Estilo's should be much bigger. You can only fit so much fabulous into one space. All in all it was a fantastic time with wonderful people. Everyone was in great spirits and the energy of the evening was magnetic. I do think that next year there needs to be an official after party, but I will leave that to the powers that be.
What is fashion? To some it might be the grey t-shirt hanging in the closet. To others it might be what they read about in the trend report of their favorite fashion magazine. But to some, it simply conjures an image of Mary-Kate Olsen. No matter your opinion on fashion and whether or not you recognize it as a part of your life, every time you go to your closet to pick out what to wear, fashion is staring right back at you.
If you do not consider yourself to be a fashionable person, remember, every decision you make regarding what you wear offers insight to your personality. It is telling the world who you are without saying a word. Flats or heels, suit or sport coat, the decisions you make tell us volumes about the soul inside those Vivier's.Deciding between the red chiffon Dior or the form fitting black Herve Leger, is the difference between, you feeling flirty and romantic or confident and sexy.
The greatest thing about fashion is that it can be whatever you want it to be.How ever you choose to interpret this season’s trends or for you brave hearts that like to venture off the beaten sequins lined path and create your own looks, just remember to have fun with fashion and not to make fun of it. Not matter how silly we might think it is to obsess about this season's Fendi, given an economic situation where most would have give up eating for a month to purchase it, just remember that there are 300 billion George Washingtons that would disagree with you.
